One thing they didn't prepare me for is that when it's quiet I can actually hear the leaflets in my new mechanical aorta valve opening and closing. It's very much a sound like a clock ticking.

And now I can identify with the crocodile in Peter Pan. 🐊⏰

I actually take it as a comforting sound rather than an alarming one though. 😊
