Honestly, if a newsletter doesn’t require double opt-in there is really no reason to trust its subscriber numbers. Most newsletters get a significant number of spam subscribers.

But obviously in a numbers game very few are going to admit this.

If you pay to send out your newsletter, you pay attention.

What upsets me more than inflated numbers, though, is all those emails sent and stored in vain at a cost to the environment.
