I do think YouTube can very well be the biggest in terms of where people listen to ”podcasts” today. Which is part of what makes me sad. For me a podcast is not a podcast without the open distribution format (RSS). And the open distribution format is for me the strength of the format… where YouTube epitomises all of the very opposite qualities: like proprietary distribution and surveillance - collecting a vast amount of information on an individual basis.

The ones I’m thinking of do not share timestamps, but it’s I see the logic. Pocket Casts also allows sharing to a timestamp as well.
